What is Day of Caring?

United Way of Dunn County brings the community together to give back every year during our annual Day of Caring.

  • Non-profit and community-based organizations submit half-day projects that are in need of helping hands from community volunteer.
  • Area businesses, schools, service clubs and other interested individuals are assigned to volunteer at one of these projects.

Project Submissions

Projects may be large or small in scale and may include a variety of activities including lawncare, painting, cleaning, organizing, mailer assistance, basicrepairs, etc.  Projects may not be direct-service for clients where volunteers are expected to provide monitoring or supervision for program participants.

Agencies can submit as many projects as they like, however we cannot guarantee that each project will be selected. We do, however, encourage organizations to provide comprehensive projects that will keep their volunteer group busy for 3+ hours.

Volunteers:  Businesses, Organizations, and Individuals

Day of Caring offers amazing “feel good” benefits for volunteers. It also provides corporate team-building and the opporunity for organizations to help develop the work skills of their team while fostering camaraderie and friendly competition. More important, it provides a way to give back to the community in a tangible, highly appreciated way.
